History

The 1200 model was very well received, but there were still some problems facing the Goldwing. In 1986 Yamaha made some changes. The engine size was increased to 1300 cc to generate more torque. The 1200 has more power than 1300. Luggage capacity increased by 50%, but the side cases could not be separated. 1300 was also equipped with an electronic anti-dive system on the fork. It only works when both brakes are in use. For passengers the comfort was an improvement, a larger trunk brought more back support. The weakness of the trunk is that the plastic breaks quickly. Despite all changes, improvements and increased traction, the 1300 did less than 16 kilometers per liter of petrol. Modifications to the bike from 1986 were minimized until the curtain fell for the 1300 in 1993.
