The Yamaha XT125R is a single cylinder enduro/adventure motorcycle made by Yamaha since the 2003 model year. It shares its modest power plant with the YBR125 and its supermotard brother, the Yamaha XT125X. While parts such as the transmission and chassis are produced in Japan, and the engine in Brazil, the motorbike itself is assembled in Bologna, Italy for the European market by the Italian bike company Malaguti.

The 21-inch front wheel and the 18-inch rear with enduro-style tires make it fit for both on- and off-road use. Seat height and ground clearance are higher compared to the Supermotard version and the machine features the typical dual-purpose handling characteristics, which makes it suitable for a wide range of duties, from crossing rough city roads to small country lanes or paths.

The XT range debuted in 1976 with the XT500 single four-stroke "torque hammer". Later, other models followed spreading from XT125 to the latest XT660. Both the XT and DT ranges represent the typical Yamaha model development consistency, with model refinements over a long period of time.

The XT 125R has an electronic display with different selectable modes: numbered Rpm, lap timer, millage, average speed, clock and trip distance. The standard Display is a bar displayed rev counter along with a speed reading. Lights on the side of the display indicate high beam and low beam, low fuel, indicators and neutral.

Yamaha strengthen its 125cc line-up with the introduction of the XT125R and XT125X for riders who need a 125cc machine offering big-bike looks and image, with great performance at an acceptable price.

The XT125R is an all-new 4-stroke dual-purpose style machine, designed to appeal to entry level customers who want a stylish and easy to use all-rounder at a competitive price. Its rugged dual-purpose styling has been inspired by the successful Yamaha XT660R adventure sport bike.

The nimble and agile XT125R has a compact chassis, with a low seat height of only 860mm and a dry weight of 111kg, making this new lightweight 4-stroke an ideal choice for younger and smaller riders. A strong, box section steel frame and plush front and rear suspension deliver a smooth, comfortable ride. Its rider-friendly character, compact dimensions and responsive 4-stroke engine also make the new XT125R a clear choice for customers of all ages who are new to two wheels.

A high-level front mudguard, enduro style headlight assembly and tough polypropylene fork protectors underline the bike’s dual-purpose image, and a 10-litre fuel tank gives plenty of range between refills.

Powered by a reliable 124cc air-cooled 4-stroke SOHC single cylinder engine which delivers plenty of smooth, controllable power. Its ‘square’ bore and stroke dimensions of 54mm x 54mm give a responsive, free-revving engine, making this new lightweight an extremely rider-friendly bike.

The new XT125R comes equipped with both an electric starter and kick starter and 5-speed transmission. For reduced emissions the exhaust system is equipped with a catalyser and an air induction system.

The XT125R comes equipped with a 21 inch front wheel, 18 inch rear wheel, and braking is supplied by a large diameter 245mm front disc with a 220mm rear disc for strong and reliable stopping power.

Available in Yamaha Blue or Yamaha Black, both with the XT logo at £2,499 on the road.
Skid plate available as an optional extra.
