From Yamaha Europe:

With Yamaha’s famous Deltabox chassis and the near legendary CP3 engine at its heart, it’s no surprise the TRACER 9 continues to redefine the sport touring class. With Yamaha’s DNA running through it, TRACER 9 is a sportbike when you want, while being equally at home touring with a passenger and luggage. Fully adjustable suspension, switchable riding modes and with the option of Y-AMT (Yamaha Automated Manual Transmission) the TRACER 9 brings high levels of adaptability and excitement to the riding experience.

Standard specification on the TRACER 9 includes a premium 7” TFT dashboard, cornering LED headlights, a 10-step adjustable windscreen and a saddle with low and high seat settings. With TRACER 9 the emphasis is on creating a motorcycle which adapts to the rider and can do everything exceptionally well, giving an exhilarating ride without compromise.

Designed to take on any challenge you might encounter on the road, the TRACER 9 is packed with clever engineering and design solutions to ensure the best possible riding experience. Lightweight wheels, constructed using Yamaha’s SpinForge process and shod with bespoke Bridgestone tyres, contribute to a light and agile machine, beautifully matched to the playful three-cylinder crossplane engine and lean-sensitive electronic rider aids.

A new era of shifting with Y-AMT (optional)
Experience a new way of riding with the choice of manual (MT) shifting via a finger operated see-saw switch or a fully automatic transmission. Invigorating when you want, easy when you need, Y-AMT works in perfect harmony with the cutting edge Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) electronic features to elevate the riding experience and deliver the perfect engine and transmission characteristics to suit the riding conditions and personal preferences.

Heated Grips and Auto Cancel Indicators* (on Y-AMT model)
Features beyond expectations for the category the TRACER 9 Y-AMT comes fitted with auto cancel indicators and integrated heated handlebar grips, which offer 10 levels of warmth and the ability to be easily user programmed to three preset settings. The grips are optimized to deliver quick warmup and a uniform distribution of heat, and can work in conjunction with the heated rider seat, which is available as a genuine Yamaha accessory.

Refined bodywork for added comfort
TRACER 9’s bodywork has been wind tunnel developed and comprehensively tested in the real world. The bodywork offers excellent weather protection, with testers reporting less fatigue on longer journeys. Despite its fresh look, it retains traditional TRACER design elements, notably the distinctive ‘arrow head’ look. The result is a great long distance companion with a premium feel and improved comfort for rider and pillion.

Award-winning CP3 platform
Yamaha’s award-winning combination of the torquey 890cc CP3 engine and Deltabox-style aluminum chassis provide the perfect confidence inspiring sports touring platform. Further refined with bespoke suspension and chassis set-up, the package is optimized with lightweight spinforged wheels and Bridgestone T32 tyres to create a light and agile riding experience.

Customisable ride modes
TRACER 9 offers a highly customizable riding experience thanks to Yamaha Ride Control (YRC). This allows the rider to tailor their ride to match conditions and preferences. Three factory settings come preloaded (SPORT, STREET and RAIN) while two custom maps can be programmed through the dashboard menu – helping the rider choose their preferred engine power characteristics and electronic interventions.

Powerful twin LED cornering headlights
Increasing night time riding confidence, the TRACER 9 comes equipped with powerful twin LED headlights with a powerful and precise beam. These high/low function units combine with standard LED cornering lights, which detect lean angle and illuminate a wider area of the road when banked over at 7° or more.

More comfortable ergonomics for rider and pillion
The TRACER 9 features an extended subframe to increase comfort by providing more space for both the rider and their passenger. This is combined with seat pads which are flatter and more generously padded to give a more sporting feel, which inspires confidence while hanging off the bike through corners. The TRACER 9 is more accessible at standstill too, with the saddle shaped to be slimmer at the standover point, while the handlebar position has a dual benefit of creating a more relaxed posture for increased comfort, particularly on longer journeys, while decreasing the turning circle to a very compact 2.9m.

7“ TFT dashboard with USB-C and integrated storage
The 7” TFT dashboard has three distinctive themes, from a stripped back layout for sports riding to an information packed touring option. Intuitive switchgear and five way joystick provides easy navigation. A USB-C charging port comes as standard, while an integrated storage area sits to the right of the cockpit.

Ten-way adjustable windscreen for improved wind protection
The TRACER 9 offers improved wind protection thanks to a sculpted front fairing and windscreen. Retaining a slim frontal area, the wind tunnel developed arrangement reduces buffeting to ensure both rider and pillion arrive at their destination fresher than ever. The windscreen offers 10 steps of adjustment, across a range of 50mm, allowing the rider to fine tune the aerodynamics to meet their own specific preferences.

Cruise control and speed limiter
Confirming the TRACER 9’s mile munching capabilities, the standard fitment of cruise control allows the rider to cruise the highways in comfort. Engageable from third gear, the cruise control can be adjusted in increments of 1km/h or 10km/h. A speed limiter function is also fitted, for times when the rider just doesn’t want to creep over the limit!

High specification suspension and settings
Highly specified 41mm KYB front forks are fully adjustable, as is the KYB rear shock absorber. With enough adjustment to cater for spirited sporting rides and two-up touring, the suspension is as adaptable as you would expect from a class-leading sports tourer. The rear link is designed to improve rear traction and load distribution while cornering.

Emergency stop signal
The Emergency Stop Signal function automatically responds when sudden braking is detected. All four LED indicators flash at high speed to warn surrounding road users that an emergency stop is in progress, helping alert others of rapid changes to the bike’s speed.
