Performance is intrinsic to the Daytona 955i’s
appeal. Its fuel-injected, three-cylinder engine packs a heavyweight 147bhp
punch, which the benchmark chassis - that includes aluminium frame, fully
adjustable suspension and powerful four-piston front brake calipers -
intuitively contains.
At the Daytona’s heart beats a highly-evolved, fuel-injected
955cc three-cylinder engine that provides a heady peak power output of 147
hp, with a great spread of power throughout the rev-range. Peak torque of
100Nm is delivered at 8,200rpm and instant drive in any of the Daytona’s six
gears is the reward of the three-cylinder engine layout.
Sleek lines add real class and a touch of ’GT’ style to the
Daytona 955i’s multi-faceted persona, while its sophisticated ergonomics
make for all day riding comfort. Beautifully blending raucous,
triple-cylinder brawn with scalpel-like handling ability, the Daytona 955i
is an intoxicating mix. It’s the light with the shade, the rough with the
smooth, the sugar and the spice. It’s all of these things, and more.
The Daytona 955i is a unique propostion. It matches power to
control and serves up a hugely satisfying riding experience in the
process. Now that’s what you call balance.
It's rude to stare; though with the 2004 Daytona's chiseled good looks,
forgivable.
Sporting a sleeker, more aerodynamic top fairing,
shapely mirrors, color-coded air intakes and a svelte new seat cowl, the
Daytona 955i is as handsome as ever. Its beauty is much more than skin deep
though and under the sharp new exterior beats a highly refined,
fuel-injected, three-cylinder heart.
There's no mistaking the lusty sound of a triple and
the Daytona delivers a heady peak power output of 147bhp (149PS). We've long
perfected the balance between power and usability though and you'll find a
great spread throughout the rev range, giving instant drive in any of the
six gears. Peak torque is 100Nm (74ft.lbf) at 8,200 rpm.
The Daytona's chassis, likewise, provides the perfect
blend of stability and responsiveness. As with all our sports bikes, both
front and rear suspension are fully adjustable to tailor the 955i to suit
the road conditions and payload and of course your own riding style. Braking
is taken care of by twin floating discs on the front and a single disc rear.
Three sophisticated color schemes - Jet Black, Tornado
Red and Racing Yellow - paired with understated graphics compliment the
Daytona's unique looks. And for 2004 a special edition Daytona, with Jet
Black paintwork and a textured black finish on the frame, wheels and
swingarm, will also be available.
Features
- New cylinder head and crankcases
with revised cooling hose routing for a visually tidier engine
- Backlash eliminator gear for reduced noise and vibration
- Revised gear change internals
- Revised swingarm
- New Scorched Yellow colour option
Stunning all-round superbike performance coupled with an
'intercontinental-blast' ability is intrinsic to the Daytona 955i's appeal.
The Daytona 955i has proved, over the years and miles, that balance is
everything. With large amounts of horsepower comes the need for finesse. And
while achieving true balance for a sports machine is no easy task, the Daytona
955i excels because it's been designed, from its inception, as a real world
performance motorcycle. It provides exactly the right blend of sporting ability
matched to practicality and, while supremely fast, it's also extremely well
mannered, nimble and agile yet roomy and comfortable.
At the Daytona's heart beats a highly-evolved, fuel-injected 955cc
three-cylinder engine that provides a heady peak power output of 149PS, with a

delivered at 8,200rpm and instant drive in any of the Daytona's six gears is the
reward of the three-cylinder engine layout.
The Daytona's chassis, likewise, provides the perfect blend of stability and
responsiveness. The aluminium frame is massively strong as are the fully
adjustable 45mm telescopic forks. Also fully adjustable is the rear monoshock,
which suspends the elegant single-sided swingarm. As befits such a powerful
machine tyre sizes are 120/70 ZR17 front and 190/50 ZR17 rear, making use of the
very best sports rubber. Twin four-piston calipers stop the front wheel via
320mm floating discs and a single twin-piston caliper grips the rear 220mm disc.
Braking performance, as you'd expect, is phenomenal.
Colour options are Scorched Yellow or Jet Black. A range of Triumph accessories
to further sharpen the Daytona's focus are available, including a high-level
oval carbon can and re-mapped fuelling for the EFI (for circuit use only). Other
items - such as soft luggage - extend the Daytona's range as a long-distance
real-world sports bike.
Sleek lines add real class to the Daytona 955i's multi-faceted persona and it
remains the intelligent superbike choice, offering as it does a unique riding
experience and, in terms of ownership, major satisfaction and enjoyment.
