A NEW BALANCE OF POWER, PRECISION AND PERFORMANCE...
Street fighting attitude from sleek, eye-catching lines, and top-quality detailing. Thrilling real-world engine punch with cutting-edge rider-aid technology is just the start. There are hundreds of reasons to ride the stunning new Triumph Speed Triple S and the incredible top-spec Speed Triple R.
The legend comes of age
How to improve a legend? Take what’s great, and make it even greater. The new Triumph Speed Triple S has stunning streetfighter looks, combined with stick-to-the-road suspension, incredible braking and engine performance, packaged with cutting-edge rider-aid technology. For ultimate performance, try the new Speed Triple R, the inclusion of fully adjustable Öhlins suspension, carbon fibre bodywork and billet machined components, a true statement of intent. Together, the new Triumph Speed Triple S and Speed Triple R take real-world performance, character and style to a whole new level.
The Speed Triple R will satisfy even the largest appetite for real world riding thrills. It comes complete with premium 43mm Öhlins NIX30 fully adjustable upside down forks and an Öhlins TTX36 twin tube fully adjustable rear monoshock, providing the perfect level of feedback to build your confidence to new levels. Race specification Brembo monobloc radial calipers bring extreme, fade free braking for high performance road and track based riding. The styling of the Speed Triple R makes sure everyone on the street knows exactly what they’re up against.
The NEW Triumph Speed Triple S and Speed Triple R take the legacy of the
first factory street fighter to a completely new level in terms of performance,
agility, power, handling and capability.
Centred around a new 1050cc triple engine, the new Speed Triple S and R redefine
the naked performance roadster. The new engine features 104 new developments
that combine to deliver more power and, more importantly, more torque across the
whole rev range whilst still meeting Euro 4 regulations and delivering an
increase of up to 10% fuel efficiency. These developments include a new
combustion chamber, new cylinder head, a new machined crank, new piston design
and new ‘Ride-by-Wire’ throttle bodies. Additional developments also include a
slip assist clutch, smaller, more efficient radiator and a new free-flowing
exhaust that has a 70% increase in flow rate.

The NEW Speed Triple S and Speed Triple R also feature a suite of rider-focused
technology. Among the features that add to the Speed Triple’s performance and
capability are a new ECU coupled to a new adjustable Ride-by-Wire throttle with
selectable throttle maps that increase the feel, responsiveness and control.
There are now 5 distinct riding modes to choose from: Road, Rain, Sport, Track
and a new Rider Configurable mode, that all allows the rider to set-up the
motorcycle to the optimum performance relative to road conditions or
environment.
Key to the new Speed Triple S and R is the aggressive, athletic styling and a
narrow, focused design. A low, lithe stance is accentuated by sleek new bodywork
and a completely new, Daytona 675R-inspired, tailpiece. All of which has been
achieved without losing any of the naked minimalist beauty that is synonymous
with the Speed Triple.
The new Triumph Speed Triple Speed Triple R redefine the Speed Triple legend –
delivering the perfect balance of power, handling, capability and character in
two new performance roadsters designed for maximum fun and maximum thrills with
maximum attitude.
Engine
Our 1050cc inline three-cylinder engine in the new Triumph Speed Triple is a
masterpiece, smooth, balanced and unmistakably charismatic. It is tuned to
deliver fists full of linear torque for instant overtaking grunt whatever gear
you’re in, and stunning top end performance. The introduction of ride-by-wire
delivers an instant response to your throttle input and the selectable riding
modes and variable traction control, results in a package that is simply the
epitome of road bike engines.
Power
Pure, linear torque is the goal for serious road-based riders, and the new Speed Triple is tuned to deliver more than ever. The new intake system, ports, combustion chambers and new exhaust system are all designed to increase gas flow efficiently, resulting in stunning performance and improved fuel economy.
Configuration
The inline three-cylinder layout of the new 1050cc engine in the Speed Triple
delivers the best real world riding available, with a flexibility no other
powertrain can match: acres of sumptuous full range torque, deliciously smooth
midrange drive and stacks of hard-charging peak performance – all from a
compact, highly controllable and reliable power unit.
Exhaust
The under seat exhaust styling is very much a Triumph Speed Triple signature,
and highlights the single-sided swingarm. The lighter, 70% freer-flowing exhaust
system on the Speed Triple incorporates new headers, and new silencers for more
power and better efficiency that significantly increase its gutsy,
characteristic inline triple exhaust roar.
New Technology
Riding Modes
The new Triumph Speed Triple features, for the first time, five selectable
riding modes – Rain, Road, Sport, Track and a Rider-configurable mode. Each mode
varies throttle response, ABS settings and traction control levels. Rain
provides a softer throttle response than Road, whilst Sport and Track provide a
sharper, more aggressive throttle map. Rider mode allows the storage of a
preferred custom combination of settings for one-touch convenience. Modes can be
quickly altered via new handlebar switchgear during riding.
Control
For added levels of rider engagement in conjunction with the new riding modes on
the Triumph Speed Triple, are variable levels of anti-lock brake and traction
control. Rain mode has the most sensitive traction control, Road and Sport modes
feature ABS and traction control for normal road riding, while Track mode uses
the minimum intervention for ABS and traction control. Custom settings can be
stored in Rider mode, or ABS and traction control can also be entirely
disengaged.

LED Indicators
Highlighting the attention to detail of the Triumph Speed Triple, slim-line and
long-life LED indicators are fitted as standard (in applicable markets).
Featuring a durable polished aluminium body, the indicators add a finishing
touch to the new, slim profile styling and enhanced quality.
RBW Throttle
The new Triumph Speed Triple features a ride-by-wire throttle using electronics
to interpret grip position, for more instant and accurate throttle response and
control. It also improves engine efficiency and fuel economy by increasing
fuelling consistency.
Single Sided Swingarm
More than just a signature styling characteristic, the new Speed Triple’s
single-sided swingarm is engineered to optimize handling stability – not to
mention making it easier to clean the rear wheel, or remove it when changing
tyres.
Chassis
The new Triumph Speed Triple has agility, stability and engagement at the heart
of its handling characteristics, unleashing the thrill with every ride.
Designed, engineered and tested extensively, the frame dimensions and geometry
are refined for the road by Triumph’s development engineers and test-riders,
building on our enviable reputation for delivering a supple, dynamic and refined
ride balanced by a bold, aggressive attitude that lets you ride the way you want
to.
Suspension
The new Speed Triple S has preload, compression and rebound damping-adjustable
43mm upside-down Showa forks and Showa monoshock rear suspension unit, utilising
factory honed settings. The Speed Triple R uses 43mm Öhlins NIX30 upside down
forks and Öhlins TTX36 twin tube rear monoshock both fully adjustable for
preload, compression and rebound damping.
Wheels, Brakes and Tyres
For the ultimate in stopping power, the new Triumph Speed Triple S and Speed
Triple R both use radial Brembo monobloc calipers, gripping 320mm discs, in
conjunction with switchable, variable ABS. Adding to all-round braking
performance and balanced high-grip and durability, both Speed Triple S and Speed
Triple R use Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tyres running on light, cast aluminium
wheels.
Frame
With heritage drawn from the ground-breaking 1995 Triumph Daytona T595
superbike, the new Speed Triple has a twin spar tubular aluminium frame bringing
its perfect blend of rigidity and feel.
Riding and Handling
The Triumph Speed Triple is defined by its ability to deliver dynamic handling
in all riding conditions, and the new Speed Triple builds on that reputation. A
forward, aggressive riding position ensures total control, total confidence and
the mastery of your environment, whether you’re forging a path through urban
sprawl, sweeping at speed across the countryside, or hitting the apex at a race
track.
Styling
With its bold, distinctive looks, the Speed Triple is one of the most instantly
recognisable silhouettes in motorcycling. The new Speed Triple continues that
tradition; new twin headlights, single-sided swingarm and underseat exhaust are
its signature. The new Speed Triple refines the look with a purposeful front end
and aerodynamic bodywork for a sleek, integrated and iconic style.
Handlebar Clamps and Risers
Exclusive to the new Speed Triple R, outstanding attention to high quality
detail is evident immediately when you reach for its handlebars. The wide alloy
bars are held by a pair of clamps and risers exquisitely machined from a solid
aluminium billet, giving the Speed Triple R’s cockpit an air of customised
class.
Mudguard and Tank Infill Panels
Saving every ounce of weight makes a big difference in performance. That’s why
the Speed Triple R features an exclusive, lightweight carbon fibre front
mudguard and a pair of carbon fibre tank infill panels, both for that
high-performance style and to save weight.
Rear Wheel Finisher
The smallest details can make the biggest impact, which is why the new Triumph
Speed Triple R comes with a rear wheel finisher made from machined billet of
aluminium, a true reflection of our attention to detail.
‘R’ Styling Features
The new Triumph Speed Triple R comes with a red colour-coded theme across the
bike to highlight its extra special appeal. It includes red stitching on the new
rider and pillion seats, red wheel pin stripes, red-painted subframe and red
side cowls.
Fly Screen
The new dynamics of the Triumph Speed Triple front end is epitomised by a pair
of profiled headlights and a standard-fitment fly screen with air intake scoop
between the lights giving a lower, more aggressive look. The overall effect
honours the famous Speed Triple ‘face’.
Bar End Mirrors
The new Speed Triple features a pair of aluminium bar-end mirrors instead of
conventional stalk-mounted mirrors that give an improved rearward view and more
aggressive profile.
Fuel Tank
The new Speed Triple features a sleek fuel tank with a low side profile for a
fully integrated design. Its contoured shape is ergonomically styled and made
from magnetic tankbag-friendly steel.
Radiator Shrouds
A narrow radiator gives the Speed Triple a slim front end profile. The sleek
radiator cowls and a bellypan (standard fit on the R version) adds to the
distinctive design silhouette.
Twin Seat
The new Triumph Speed Triple’s seat is a separate two-piece design, focussed on
the best individual shape for comfort. The rider’s seat has a narrow front
profile for better control and improved ‘stand-over’ but is also now wider and
more supportive at the back. The Triumph logo is embossed on the leading edge of
the pillion seat, giving added conspicuous detail.
Twin Silencers
The under seat exhaust on the new Triumph Speed Triple, with black wrap and
shot-blasted and anodised aluminium heat shields are lightweight and incredibly
efficient but best of all, they sound amazing.
