The GSX-R’s compact and lightweight engine provides class-leading power that is delivered smoothly and controllably across a broad rpm range. This versatile engine is equally suited for driving hard out of a racetrack corner or accelerating effortlessly onto a public highway.

This incredible engine contributes to the GSX-R1000’s compact chassis that delivers nimble handling with excellent front-end feel and braking, as useful for trail-braking on the racetrack as for rolling into tight corners on a country road. Advanced electronic rider aids that aren’t too complicated to use enhance the experience rather than control it. The bodywork’s aerodynamics reduce drag at top speed on the racetrack and improve rider comfort on brisk street rides.

In short, Suzuki developed a new generation GSX-R1000 that has an unmatched combination of reliability, durability, usability, and overall performance with excellent racing potential in a package that works as well for street riders as it does for track-day riders and amateur or professional racers.

The Suzuki Integrated Design approach, with a dedicated team of talented engine, chassis, electronic, and aerodynamic engineers working together, produced an outstanding sportbike. The GSX-R1000 proves it was built to Own the Racetrack, as it captured the MotoAmerica Superbike Championship in its debut year, once again asserting its claim as The King of Sportbikes.

THE KING OF THE SPORTBIKES!

It has been three decades, with more than a million editions sold, since the GSX-R line was born. And a decade and a half has elapsed since the first GSX-R1000 transformed the open sportbike class forever. Now, the 2020 GSX-R1000 is redefining what it means to be The King of Sportbikes.

This motorcycle’s chassis forms the lightest, the most compact, the most aerodynamic and the best-handling GSX-R1000 ever. Cradled in the new aluminum frame is an all-new engine that uses an exclusive Variable Valve Timing and Ride-by-Wire throttle bodies for a wide spread of power while delivering smooth and precise throttle response.

Using an Inertial Measuring Unit (IMU) the GSX-R1000’s advanced electronics package includes selectable performance modes so the motorcycle enhances and fine tunes rider inputs. The six-axis IMU lets the GSX-R1000 recognize its position on the street or race track to help the rider achieve an extraordinary level of riding performance.

Up front, new style BREMBO T-drive brake rotors grasped by Monobloc calipers provide strong, controlled braking, while the precise and smooth SHOWA suspension keeps the sticky Bridgestone RS10 tires in touch with the road. All of this forward-looking motorcycle technology is covered in all-new, wind tunnel-developed bodywork that’s uniquely GSX-R.

PERFORMANCE, INNOVATION, DOMINATION
GSX-R1000, the most powerful, hardest accelerating, cleanest running GSX-R ever. It is also the lightest and most aerodynamic GSX-R1000.

Built to own the racetrack and let loose on the streets. Since 1985, the GSX-R has been continuously refined to deliver new levels of performance and agility. This legacy of innovation continues with over 1 million legends made.
Key Features
DOHC, inline-four engine produces great top-end power with a strong low- to mid-range pull thanks to the exclusive Suzuki Variable Valve Timing (VVT) system and the highly efficient 4-2-1 exhaust with a revised muffler and heat shield.

Advanced electronics include the Suzuki Bi-Directional Quick Shift System as standard equipment, an Inertia Measurement Unit, S-DMS adjustable engine output, and Traction Control* to increase track and street performance.

Twin-spar aluminum frame is lighter and more compact than the prior-generation GSX-R1000 for nimble handling with a high level of grip when cornering.

Advanced Showa suspension combines with ABS-equipped Brembo T-drive front brake rotors and four-piston calipers for extraordinary handling and stopping performance.

Aerodynamic fairing houses a bright LED headlight and Suzuki Ram Air Direct ducts that feed the engine to boost top end power.

The GSX-R1000 is available in a Glass Sparkle Black/Metallic Matte Black or a Pearl Glacier White/Glass Sparkle Black color scheme. Each version features complementary graphics and wheel trim.
