For a generation of riders the Suzuki’s GSX-R models are synonymous with performance, reliability, and pure riding fun. Performance that has led to countless victories in production-based superbike, superstock and endurance races worldwide.

The 2027 Suzuki GSX-R1000RS 40th Anniversary Edition celebrates four decades of the GSX-R family with meaningful performance upgrades and exclusive styling.

It features a revised 999.8cc inline-four engine with higher 13.8:1 compression, new crankcases, crankshaft, cylinder head, pistons, and an eight-hole top-feed injector setup for smoother torque delivery and increased power.

A new Bosch six-axis IMU enhances the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System with improved traction control, cornering ABS, and Smart TLR Control that integrates lift limiting and roll torque management.
Carbon-fiber winglets mounted to the front cowling generate downforce for high-speed stability, while the under-cowl panels are revised for a cleaner profile matching the new high-mounted 4-2-1 exhaust with a compact 5.5-liter titanium muffler.

Suspension is race-derived Showa Balance Free Front fork and BFRC-lite rear shock with gold-anodized components, paired with Brembo radial-mount front brakes and Bridgestone RS11 tires.
The bike wears special Pearl Vigor Blue or Candy Daring Red with Pearl Tech White graphics, 40th-anniversary decals, a fuel tank emblem, blacked-out cap, gray engine covers, and a custom ignition key.

Key Features:
Body

The Pearl Vigor Blue / Pearl Tech White or Candy Daring Red / Pearl Tech White paint schemes with special 40th anniversary graphics and special components perfectly complement the 2027 GSX-R1000RS’s slippery, functional bodywork. New carbon-fiber winglets are mounted to the sides of the front cowling and are paired with a color matched single seat cowl on the GSX-R1000RS.

Engine
Updated for 2027, the new high-performance 999.8cm3 four-stroke liquid-cooled DOHC inline-four engine retains the same level of driveability and reliability, while producing torque an even more linear fashion resulting in the most powerful and hardest accelerating engine in the GSX-R family.

Driveline
The Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) multi-plate, wet clutch functions like a slipper clutch during downshifts while increasing pressure on the plates during acceleration. The Suzuki Bi-directional Quick Shift System enables smooth, clutchless upshifts and downshifts of the cassette-style, six-speed transmission.

Chassis
Light and compact, the twin-spar aluminum frame has adjustable swingarm pivots to help racers tune the chassis. Assembled in precision machined bodies with a gold-anodized finish, the Showa® BFF fork and shock deliver extraordinary handling while the lean-sensitive, ABS system monitors the Brembo® four-piston, radial-mount front brake calipers that are fed by stainless steel brake lines.

Advanced Electronic Rider Aids
A new, lightweight, and precise Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) provides six-direction, three-axis, motion, and position information to the ECM, so instantaneous electronic adjustments are made to the Traction Control* and the lean-sensitive Motion Track Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS). New Smart TLR Control employs Traction Control, Lift Limiter, and Roll Torque Control that all work in conjunction together.

Electrical Features
The new Li-ion battery is lighter, more compact and provides more stable voltage under load. The black background LCD multifunction instrument panel was inspired by the GSX-RR MotoGP dash, and the aerodynamic fairing houses a bright, stacked LED headlight assembly and eyebrow position lights above the Suzuki Ram Air Direct intake ducts.
