KTM is already pulling out all the stops for the 2007 Rally Season. In order to present passionate privateers with the best possible racing motorcycle, from March 2007 the company based in Mattighofen, Austria will also offer special replicas of the official KTM factory Rally machines.

Following the overwhelming KTM success in the last Dakar Rally, the Austrian manufacturer is already fully engaged in preparation for the 2007 Rally Season. As well as completing the preparation for the big Dakar event next year, the KTM factory will also produce the 690 Rally Replica, a production racing machine for passionate private racers, which has been developed by the Rally Department and tested by top riders.

Based on the experience of the KTM Rally Factory Teams and in line with the KTM “Ready to Race” philosophy, the 690 Rally Replica will be exclusively equipped with race-proven winning technology. These race-ready rally machines will be manufactured to order and fitted with the groundbreaking, fully newly developed single cylinder engine with dramatically improved characteristics, lower levels of vibration and generous power delivery. At the same time, the engine weight has been reduced by three kilograms and the total weight of the motorcycle by eight kilos. All of the new LC4 engine’s performance can be perfectly called upon using the brand new six-gear transmission.

An extremely robust self-supporting tubular frame has been designed to ensure an optimal distribution of weight. Ergonomically shaped tanks, together with a flat seat unit ensure improved control when tackling even the toughest race segments. Newly designed paneling also ensures that the 690 Rally Replica is not only faster but also significantly more stable at the front end of the machine.

Riders from the official KTM Rally Team will be riding the new 690 Rally Replica in the next Dakar Rally and in doing so, will provide the perfect basis for successful races for KTM rally riders all over the world.
