Kawasaki’s Z family has long stood for aggressive naked-bike style, strong performance, and that distinctive “Sugomi” design language that blends predator-like aggression with functional engineering. For 2026, the smallest member of the clan — the European-spec Z125 — continues that tradition with fresh colour options while retaining the full-size chassis and capable running gear that set it apart from mini-naked rivals.

Unlike the compact, 12-inch-wheeled Z125 Pro sold in other markets (an air-cooled mini-streetfighter), the European Z125 is a proper full-size 125cc supernaked. It shares its tubular steel trellis-style (diamond) frame, liquid-cooled engine, and overall dimensions with the Ninja 125, delivering the presence and riding feel of a larger machine in an A1 licence-compliant package.

Design and Styling
The 2026 Z125 follows Kawasaki’s Sugomi philosophy with minimal bodywork, an exposed trellis frame, sharp lines, and an aggressive stance. The slim, hourglass silhouette, close-fitting panels, and distinctive headlight and sharp taillight create a purposeful streetfighter look that echoes bigger Z models.

For 2026, Kawasaki introduced two attractive colour schemes:
- Candy Lime Green / Metallic Spark Black
- Pearl Storm Grey / Ebony

These fresh liveries keep the bike looking contemporary while maintaining the high-visibility and character expected of the Z range. Availability began rolling out from late 2025 (November in many markets).

Engine and Performance
At the heart of the Z125 sits a modern 125 cm³ liquid-cooled, 4-stroke single-cylinder engine with DOHC and four valves. Key figures include:

- Maximum torque: 11.7 N·m at 7,700 rpm
- Fuel system: Electronic fuel injection (Ø 28 mm throttle body)

The engine delivers progressive, rider-friendly power with a strong top-end pull typical of Kawasaki singles, making it both accessible for beginners and entertaining for more experienced riders. Fuel consumption is impressively low at around 2.7 l/100 km, with CO₂ emissions of 61 g/km, meeting Euro 5+ standards. The 11-litre tank supports a theoretical range exceeding 400 km under ideal conditions.
Electric start and fuel injection ensure easy, reliable operation.

Chassis, Suspension and Brakes
The full-size chassis is one of the Z125’s strongest selling points. The tubular steel diamond/trellis frame is slim and compact yet provides the geometry and presence of a larger motorcycle, with a wheelbase of approximately 1,320–1,330 mm.

Suspension consists of a 37 mm telescopic front fork (110 mm travel) and Kawasaki’s Uni-Trak rear suspension with a gas-charged shock and 5-way preload adjustment (around 120 mm travel). This setup offers a good balance of compliance over bumps and composed handling for sporty riding.
Braking is handled by petal-style discs: a 290 mm front disc with dual-piston caliper and a 220 mm rear disc with dual-piston caliper, both supported by independent sport ABS as standard. Tyres are 100/80-17 front and 130/70-17 rear, mounted on lightweight 17-inch wheels that contribute to nimble, confidence-inspiring handling.
