The backrest and passenger comfort seat are no longer supplied with the XDiavel Dark but can be purchased separately from the Ducati Performance accessories catalogue.

The XDiavel Dark lacks the S model’s machined cast wheels and the Ducati Multimedia system, and makes do with M4.32 Brembo calipers instead of the S model’s M50 brakes.

The Euro 5 models receive a stacked exhaust design based on the Diavel 1260’s. In North America, both the XDiavel S and XDiavel Dark will get the old design with the horizontally-aligned exhaust.

Ducati renews the XDiavel range by introducing two new versions for 2021: XDiavel Dark and XDiavel Black Star.

XDiavel Dark enhances the beauty of the Ducati cruiser shapes thanks to the essentiality of the matt black colour. The Bologna-based motorcycle manufacturer has a bond of over twenty years with matt black that began in 1998 with the Monster 600 Dark, the first model to wear this livery. On the XDiavel Dark the total black livery has also been extended to the mechanical components, plates, and finishes, enhancing the Ducati “Reduce to the Max” design principle. The XDiavel Dark represents purity, essentiality, and the gateway to the world of XDiavel.

The new XDiavel Black Star version shows enthusiasts the sporty side of the Ducati cruiser, with a livery and equipment inspired by the world of sports cars. The dedicated livery alternates grey and matt black with inevitable touches of red. The colour cuts are clear and intersect, echoing the X concept that characterizes the family.

No detail has been overlooked on this bike: the red engine head covers are a reminder of the 100% Ducati soul, and the seat, enriched with a high-grip suede fabric, evokes the sportiness of the brand.

Characterizing elements of the XDiavel Black Star are the forged rims, entirely machined and painted in gloss black, which enhance the aesthetics of the bike and lighten it, resulting in a weight saving of over 2 kg. At the front end, the bike sports a 3.5” x 17’’ wheel, at the rear an 8” x 17’’ one. The front wheel mounts a traditional 120/70 ZR17 tyre with a tread redesigned to maximise wet weather performance. The rear tyre is a 240/45 ZR17. The bike comes with new Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres.

On both new versions and on the entire 2021 range, the twin-cylinder Ducati Testastretta DVT 1262 becomes Euro 5 compliant in all countries that adopt the standard. To comply with the new European emissions standard, an updated silencer layout, a new design, derived from the Diavel 1260, and a new engine calibration have been adopted. In this way, the XDiavel now delivers a maximum power of 160 hp at 9,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 13.0 kgm at 5,000 rpm with an increase, compared to the Euro 4 version, of 8 hp and 0, 2 kgm.

Like all the latest generation Ducatis, the XDiavel is also equipped with the Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) which, by dynamically measuring the roll and pitch angles as well as the speed of the relative set-up variations, provides the information to the Bosch Cornering ABS, allowing performance and safety standards to be raised.

This system, together with Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Riding Modes, Bosch Cornering ABS, Cruise Control and Ducati Power Launch (DPL) make the XDiavel a technological gem offering high performance and, above all, safety.

XDiavel is the result of the contamination between two apparently different and distant universes, united in a single bike. A synthesis in which both meet up in a complete, totally uncompromising way. The X of XDiavel precisely represents this crossover, which sees on the one hand the relaxed pace at low speed typical of the Cruiser world and on the other the excitement and adrenaline of Ducati's sporty riding.
