Some of the variations on the 98 which were also launched in 1953 are the 98T - Tourismo and the 98TL - Tourismo Lusso.

There were monor differences in terms of light alloy wheel rims (98TL), thigher handlebars, different tanks and two-piece saddles.  The TL also received a protective crash bar.
