Nothing superfluous. All Monster. Monster Dark distils the model’s iconic character to its purest essence. An all-black look, authentic details, and a light, agile, intuitive riding experience. Everything that makes Monster unmistakable, in an even Darker guise.

The symbol of a legend.
A bike designed to leave a mark and rewrite the rules. Monster Dark takes up everything that has made Monster a legend, with its iconic design, unmistakable presence and authentic sports character. And it does so with even Darker attitude, with targeted design choices that make for a cleaner, more purposeful look.

3-arch flyline: the unmistakable Monster signature
The Monster Dark flaunts an immediately recognisable silhouette with its iconic three-arch flyline. A symbol of minimalist design and character, this distinctive trait transcends the generations. On the Monster Dark, too, this line guides the design, merging tradition and innovation for a perfect balance of past and future.

Evolution of the Monster essence
The new Monster Dark livery is born of the dialogue between heritage and innovation. Iconic elements that have defined the model’s history are reinterpreted through a more contemporary, minimalist and dynamic design language, creating a distinctly Monster design with an eye to the future. Monster Dark retains the references to its roots and transforms them into contemporary details that combine identity, style and modernity.

All-black look
The all-black look showcases Monster character in its purest form. The Dark Stealth livery reinforces the model’s essence, while the Front Frame, snorkel cap and silencer are left unpainted to recall the spirit of the first Monster, raw and minimalist, highlighting the bike’s mechanical soul and distinctive personality.

A design choice that strips away the superfluous and creates a darker, more compact and assertive presence.

Muscular tank
The tank is an important design element that combines extremely contemporary language with references to past legends. The front air vents, which echo the second generation, allow for a much wider steering angle while retaining muscular proportions. A functional detail that strengthens the bike’s character and restores one of Monster’s most recognisable design signatures.

One-piece seat
The one-piece seat helps define the minimalist, monochrome look of Monster Dark. A choice in keeping with the bike’s pure and assertive character, which does away with visual interruptions and strengthens the clean overall design. Compact and recognisable, the iconic Monster silhouette is retained and reinterpreted in a darker, cleaner and bolder form.

Robotic and modern LED headlight
The new headlight gives the Monster Dark its distinctive face: robotic and modern, it is designed to be ultra-compact and keep the bike short. The double C typical of Ducati naked bikes has a split design that echoes the lines of the superbikes, paying tribute to the Panigale V4. An element that combines functionality and style, underlining the bike’s contemporary character.

Textured side panels for advanced ergonomics and grip
The side panels of the Monster Dark are designed to create a sleek, streamlined profile, tracing the minimalist lines of the bike. The applied texture is not just an aesthetic detail: it improves grip during riding, particularly under braking, for greater safety and control. An element that combines functionality and style, consistent with the Monster philosophy.

The lightest twin-cylinder ever produced by Ducati.
890 cc of pure twin-cylinder energy. The heart of Monster Dark is the V2 engine: compact, lightweight and capable of delivering 111 hp, it combines significant performance with a smooth and very manageable response. Weighing just 54.4 kg, it contributes to reducing the overall weight by 4 kg with respect to the previous generation. Thanks to the Intake Variable Timing system, power delivery is full-bodied and exhilarating at high revs yet remains smooth and enjoyable at low engine speeds.

Just 54kg. The lightest ever Ducati V2
The V2 engine marks another step forward for Ducati engine innovation, delivering a Euro 5+ homologated power unit. A project built on sophisticated engineering solutions, like the aluminium cylinder liners and pump positioned in the crankcase. An innovative engine that introduces the Intake Variable Timing system to enhance power delivery, offering the rider a linear response at lows revs, robust mid-range torque, and top-end performance.

The benefits of Intake Variable Timing
The Intake Variable Timing system continuously adjusts the intake valve opening timing, for the best possible delivery. This allows for significant power at high revs, for a maximum of 111 hp, and smooth delivery at mid/low range with consistent combustion. Essentially, there is no need to choose between low-range torque and high-range power, as intake variable timing ensures you have both. This characteristic allows the V2 twin engine to adapt to various conditions of use: from low-speed riding in traffic, even in high gear, to sports riding in the hills when you want to have fun.

111 hp for substantial, manageable power
The V2 engine unleashes 111 hp and 91 Nm of torque, delivered across a broad, usable band. 70% of peak torque is available at just 3,000 rpm, while more than 80% is maintained between 4,000 and 10,000 rpm, for a prompt response in every situation.

Substantial power that remains manageable: thanks to Intake Variable Timing and smooth delivery across the curve, Monster Dark promises sports riding and enjoyment in equal measure. There’s no need to choose between character and ease of riding, as the engine shines when the pace picks up but remains progressive and controllable in everyday use.

Thanks to the four Power Modes — High, Medium, City and Low — associated with the four Riding Modes, it is possible to customise engine behaviour based on riding style and context. The throttle grip also has two mappings associated with the Power Modes, for a more dynamic or smoother response.

Reduced bulk and a simplified structure with the V2 twin engine
The V-twin engine is more than a symbol of sportiness; it is also a technical solution that reduces bulk and simplifies the bike’s overall architecture. As a load-bearing element, as per Monster tradition, it becomes an integral part of the frame, doing away with the superfluous and reducing overall weight.
The result is a visibly narrower, smaller and more compact engine, with an architecture designed to conceal many of the technical elements that were previously on display. The V2 twin is particularly suited to a naked bike. Everything is designed to offer a lighter bike that is clean in design and ready to express itself in every situation.

35kW restricted power version
Designed also for those approaching the Monster world for the first time, Monster Dark confirms the Ducati range’s inclusive approach. The new V2 twin is available as a 35 kW restricted power version, dedicated to the models suitable for A2 licence holders.

An intuitive bike for immediate feeling in any situation.
Easy when needed, sporty when you choose. Monster Dark combines lightness, compact dimensions and ergonomics designed to offer control and a natural feel from the outset. The riding position, wide steering angle, and agile and precise chassis make Monster intuitive in its handling and responsive during more dynamic riding. Accessible in feeling, authentically Monster in character.

Benchmark lightness
Thanks to the V2 twin and the use of cutting-edge components, Monster Dark sheds further weight, a full 4 kg, with respect to the previous generation. The result is a kerb weight (without fuel) of just 175 kg, a benchmark figure for the category.

Superbike frame as per Monster tradition
The Monster Dark flaunts a frame derived directly from the superbikes, in keeping with an engineering choice already adopted on the first generation of Monster.

The monocoque structure in aluminium alloy is compact, light and stiff, designed to enhance handling and responsiveness. The result is a Monster that is even more intuitive, precise and fun to ride.

Combination of lightness and structure with the rear subframe
The rear subframe of the Monster Dark is a distinctive element comprising two easily recognisable parts. The structural section is a black steel trellis, which contrasts visually with the part in modern GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer) technology, underlining the bike’s sports character.

SHOWA suspension with adjustable rear preload
Like the suspension on the latest-generation Monster, suspension on the Monster Dark has been refined to offer the best balance between everyday comfort and sports performance. At the front, the intuitive, stable and precise Showa fork immediately inspires confidence. At the rear is a Showa monoshock with mechanically adjustable preload. The result is an agile, easy bike that anyone can enjoy, capable of delivering its full potential even when the pace picks up.

Optimised Brembo braking system
The Monster Dark braking system is designed to deliver high performance with maximum control. At the front are two 320 mm discs with radially mounted Brembo callipers and master cylinder, and at the rear a 245 mm disc with twin-piston calliper. The system is refined with the introduction of brake pads with a specially developed friction material, designed to make the initial braking phase more progressive and intuitive, particularly during urban use.

Optimised hydraulic clutch for everyday comfort
The Monster Dark’s hydraulic clutch is optimised to heighten the level of comfort during everyday use. On routes requiring frequent gear shifting, the force needed to operate the lever is reduced by 15% with respect to the previous generation, for smoother, simpler riding even in city traffic. For those wanting even quicker, sportier shifting, the Ducati Quick Shift 2.0 is available as an accessory.

All-black wheels and Diablo Rosso IV tyres
The all-black wheels complete the visual identity of Monster Dark, maintaining visual continuity with the bike’s overall tone and reinforcing its minimalist, assertive character. Monster Dark retains the Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, a high-end choice for road use, combining the sportiness typical of the Diablo Rosso family with a reduced warm-up time and excellent grip even in the wet. The carcass and design of the tread ensures stability, precision and grip, for even safer and more engaging sports riding, without compromising its everyday versatility.

Ergonomics for fatigue-free riding
The ergonomics of the Monster Dark are designed to offer a natural, fatigue-free riding position, ideal for daily use and more dynamic outings. The handlebar is shifted slightly forward with respect to the previous version, for a greater sense of front-end control that increases rider confidence and precision.
Steering angle for better handling in urban settings

The Monster Dark’s steering angle is designed to maximise handling, particularly during urban use. Low-speed manoeuvres are smooth and natural, facilitating travel in city traffic and ensuring an even more intuitive and enjoyable ride.

Seat height for a greater feeling of safety
The seat height on the Monster Dark is designed to offer every rider an immediate sense of control. A particularly narrow seat-to-tank junction makes it easier to reach the ground with both feet, heightening confidence during stationary and low speed manoeuvres. With the standard seat, the height is 815 mm, 5 mm lower than the previous generation, and for those seeking an even more accessible position, the Ducati Performance accessories catalogue offers the lowered seat and suspension lowering kit, which bring the seat height to just 775 mm.

Monster electronics: greater control, greater enjoyment.
Developed to amplify the riding pleasure and offer the rider an immediate sense of control: the Monster electronics makes the bike more intuitive, safer and more engaging in every situation. Thanks to the Riding Modes and Power Modes, the response adapts to riding style and context: smooth and manageable in urban traffic, bolder and more responsive at higher speeds. A versatility that makes Monster Dark intuitive in everyday riding and ready to express its sports attitude when the pace picks up.

Riding Modes and Power Modes for every riding style
Powered by a lively, smooth-running engine, the Monster Dark delivers exhilarating drive through the mid-range and consistent performance at low speeds.

Thanks to the four Power Modes - High, Medium, City and Low – and the four Riding Modes - Sport, Road, Urban and Wet - Monster Dark perfectly adapts to every riding style. Medium Power Mode is ideal for everyday use thanks to its more rounded, manageable character, while High Power Mode unleashes all the power and sports spirit of the Monster. A versatility that makes the bike intuitive for novices and engaging for more expert riders.

Standard electronics equipment
Standard electronics equipment on the Monster Dark includes Cornering ABS, which exploits the 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and modulates the braking power applied to the front and rear wheels also in critical situations and with the bike tipped. By interacting with the Riding Modes, the system can offer solutions suited to any situation, riding condition and rider preference.

Ducati Traction Control (DTC) significantly improves power management out of the turns thanks to the new “predictive” control strategy. By monitoring not only the instantaneous level of rear-wheel spin but also how it changes, it detects loss of traction more quickly and reduces peaks in wheelspin, to ensure more rapid and controlled intervention. This all translates into greater vehicle stability out of the turn, even in cases of less-than-ideal grip, greater acceleration, and enhanced performance.

The Engine Brake Control (EBC) allows the level of engine braking on throttle-off to be adjusted, so the rider can choose more or less braking force, while Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) controls the wheelie and allows for maximum performance under acceleration to be easily and safely achieved.

Electronic accessories for maximum riding pleasure
The Ducati Performance catalogue offers electronic accessories designed to further enrich the riding experience. For clutchless gear changes, Ducati Quick Shift 2.0 is available as an accessory for the Monster Dark. The system uses a sensor positioned directly on the gear drum for an immediate connection between pedal and transmission. This results in quicker shifting and more precise feeling, for an even more engaging riding experience.

Cruise Control automatically keeps the vehicle at a preset speed, ideal for long-range travel. While the Ducati Multimedia System (DMS), also available as an accessory, allows a smartphone to be connected to the bike via Bluetooth, activating functions such as calls, music and turn-by-turn navigation directly on the display.

5” colour TFT with two info modes
The Monster Dark presents the new 5-inch TFT display, with a surface that is 16% larger than the previous version, for better readability in all conditions. Complete with day and night mode and two info modes (Road and Road Pro), the system dynamically adapts to the riding context. The menu structure has been redesigned with an adaptive approach, optimising the display of the main functions and icons, for a more fluid, efficient and controlled user experience.
