Intended primarily for the American market, the 175/200 Motocross was released in 1958. This was a much more successful rendition of the overhead camshaft series.

While early examples were not particularly popular, the series grew in stature that by the end of the 1960's it represented the mainstay of production.

Underneath the off-road exterior of the 175/200 Motocross was the 175T with different size wheels, larger carburetor and reshaped exhaust.  The swingarm was also strengthened and the rear subframe included additional bracing.
