Buell Super Touring 1190 & Baja DR

.

Buell unveiled two new models, the Super Touring and the Baja DR,  which are both powered by the engine from their Hammerhead 1190 superbike. Both models are still prototypes, and no technical data has yet been released.

Super Touring

The Super Touring is powered by a 1190cc 75° V-twin which is a bored out version of the 1125R Rotax developed for Buell.  The engine produces a maximum power of 185hp/136kW @ 10,600rpm, with a peak torque of 137Nm/101lb-ft @ 8200rpm.

The engine is mounted in one of Buell's signature aluminium beam frames that also incorporates the fuel, while the carbon-fibre tank houses the airbox and the electronics.

The Super Tourer uses Buell’s signature 386mm perimeter disc rotor combined with an eight piston caliper.

The front-end is dominated by two circular headlamps wrapped in a chunky rectangular cowl paired to a vertical windscreen.

Carbon fibre has been extensively used, with the fuel tank, side engine panels and front fender.

Baja DR

According to Buell the Baja DR is the world’s fastest production dirt bike.  It uses the same engine as the Super Touring, but detuned to 175hp.

The engine is mounted into a tube steel off-road frame, with a long travel suspension, huge swingarm and adjustable wheelbase.
