The street-oriented 2022 BMW F 750 GS has updated Packages and a change in available colors. Although it’s a GS, it is not as adventurous as the F 850 GS, with which it shares an engine—albeit detuned to 750-spec. Let’s go over the new Packages.

The Select Package includes engine-compression-braking electronic traction control and a luggage rack, but the quickshifter drops from the feature list. Returning are Ride Modes Pro, cruise control, heated grips, and preparation for a GPS unit (not included).

The Premium Package gives you everything in the Select Package, plus semi-active electronic suspension, a quickshifter, tire pressure monitoring, keyless operation, and LED Style Elements.

As far as colors go, You can welcome back Light White as the standard color, and it is joined by San Marino Blue Metallic Style Sport and Black Storm Metallic 2 Style Triple Black

Overview

For years, the core competencies of the renowned BMW Motorrad middle-class BMW F 750 GS, BMW F 850 GS and BMW F 850 GS Adventure models have been manifold: premium riding enjoyment thanks to reliable controllability on all roads, impressive engine power as well as extensive everyday-driving and touring capabilities – even when mere dirt roads lead to your destination. The BMW F 850 GS and BMW F 850 GS Adventure perfectly combine supreme road and touring suitability with outstanding offroad characteristics, while the more manageable dimensions of the BMW F 750 GS appeal to motorcyclists seeking an introduction to the world of touring enduros.

Already a tried and tested concept, the F series is unveiling three variations here, fervently embraced by motorcycle enthusiasts in recent years and further refined by BMW Motorrad for model year 2021. All three models appear fresher and more dynamic thanks to new colour schemes and provide an even more intense GS experience with expanded standard equipment and new optional equipment.

General changes to the BMW F 750 GS, BMW F 850 GS and BMW F 850 GS Adventure include new tape designs and the respective style designation on the fairing side panels of the style variations. Furthermore, all models now have new LED flashing turn indicators as standard and a USB charging device at the front right of the cockpit. ABS Pro and DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) are now also standard, for even more braking and accelerating safety.

As before, the powerful, liquid-cooled 4-valve, 2-cylinder engine with 853 cc capacity, fuel injection and six-speed gearbox in all three models ensures vigorous propulsion. It is already designed to meet the future Euro 5 emission standard and thanks to two counterbalance shafts, delights with its smoothness, spontaneous response characteristics, impressive pulling power and low fuel consumption. In the BMW F 750 GS, as before, it generates 57 kW (77 hp) at 7,500 rpm and develops a maximum torque of 83 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The BMW F 850 GS and the BMW F 850 GS Adventure still generate 70 kW (95 hp) at 8,250 rpm and 92 Nm at 6,250 rpm.

The new BMW F 750 GS: In Light white, sports style or as "40 Years GS Edition", and with expanded standard equipment.

The new BMW F 750 GS now steps up in the new basic Light white paintwork with tank centre cover painted in the vehicle colour. The black matt painted rims, black handlebars and seat bench in red/black make for a striking contrast.

The sports style in San Marino blue metallic is also new for the BMW F 750 GS. A tinted windscreen gives it a sporty touch. In keeping with this, Granite grey metallic rims, silver handlebars as well as a black-grey seat bench and galvanised radiator cowl make a high-quality impression.

Conversely, the visually eye-catching BMW F 750 GS "40 Years GS Edition" with the "40 Years GS" logo on the fairing side panels is dedicated exclusively to the "40 Years GS" anniversary. Its yellow hand-protector bars and seat bench in black/yellow with GS logo unmistakeably invoke an icon from 40 years of GS history: The BMW R 100 GS. Black matt painted rims, silver handlebars and a galvanised radiator cowl round off this exclusive anniversary appearance.

New and modified optional equipment as well as Original BMW Motorrad Accessories for the BMW F 750 GS and the BMW F 850 GS models.

The new BMW F 750 GS, BMW F 850 GS and BMW F 850 GS Adventure all feature new components of the Pro riding modes optional equipment. Thus, as in the GS models with boxer engines, a reworked throttle response in DYNAMIC riding mode now ensures even more dynamics and driving enjoyment.

Furthermore, dynamic engine brake control and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) now feature in Pro riding modes. Other new Pro riding mode features include the preselection of up to four riding modes for the button assignment on the right handlebar controls (though only in conjunction with the Connectivity optional equipment in the BMW F 750 GS).

An extra low seat bench as well as modified lowered suspension will be available as optional equipment for all three models in future ensuring even better ground accessibility when stationary.

BMW GS History

Since 1980, GS has stood for unique motorcycles that are part of every adventure. We are celebrating this year with the "40 Years GS" edition. It is an homage to the history of the GS and invokes the unique look of the legendary R 100 GS while also utilising the latest technology. A true F 850 GS Adventure with striking flyline and balanced GS ergonomy. With this bike, you can conquer new terrain, take on any adventure, be part of a unique community and live the #SpiritofGS.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE “40 YEARS GS” EDITION

Unique design for the anniversary: Inspired by the R 100 GS and nicknamed “Bumblebee”, its black-yellow look is truly striking. Striking design elements turn the legendary look into a true eye-catcher and let the bike shine in the gleam of over 40 years of GS history.

From off-road sport to the road - 1978 to 1980:

In 1978, BMW Motorrad attracted attention with a predecessor to the first GS: The GS 80 takes in two gold medals at the International Six Days Enduro. The bike had been developed by an in-house team of developers without an official order. But its success proved the engineers and mechanics right: Their bike made it truly enjoyable to ride both off-road and on-road. It was released to the market in 1980 under a slightly different name, the BMW R 80 G/S.

Its rise begins - 1980 to 1987:

With the GS, BMW Motorrad created the perfect synthesis of off-road and on-road driving: Regardless of surface type, riders have control over their bikes in every situation while also enjoying maximum comfort on long routes. The highlight is the monolever single-sided swinging arm, which is the first to be installed on a motorcycle worldwide. This reduces the weight and enables the rear wheel to be changed quickly. With the R 80 G/S, BMW Motorrad created the segment for large, comfortable dual-sport motorcycles – a segment that it still dominates today.

The GS gains momentum: more displacement, more power - 1987 to 1996:

The new top model, the R 100 GS, focuses on a lot of displacement: it is the most powerful and fastest enduro on the market. The paralever dual-pivot swinging arm on the rear wheel ensures effortless handling off-road and on-road. With its striking black-yellow paint, it is known as “Bumblebee”. The colour is still hugely popular among fans today and decorates this year's special edition “40 Years GS” model.

A new chapter in dual-sport motorcycles - 1994 to 2003:

The GS is on its way to being an icon while continuously changing: In 1994, the first enduro with a four-valve boxer engine appears with the R 1100 GS. The bike is popular because it handles well off road and performs perfectly on long tours. The concept is purposefully further developed with touring in mind and, in 2002, adapted even more to the needs of long-distance travellers with the R 1150 GS Adventure – the Adventure series is born.

From one-cylinder to two-cylinder - 2000 to 2008:

The very popular and novice-friendly “Funduro” models, the F 650 and F 650 ST, have their engines reworked at the beginning of the new millennium. Thanks to the water-cooled single-cylinder unit, F 650 GS and F 650 GS Dakar riders have enough drive for everyday riding as well as that typical enduro feeling. In 2008, the F 650 GS and F 800 GS, both completely redesigned enduro models, are equipped with a liquid-cooled two-cylinder in-line engine. This means pure adventure, even in the mid-range segment.

From air-cooled to water-cooled boxer engine - 2004 to 2017:

In 2004 BMW Motorrad re-released the R 1200 GS. The bike is given more displacement, power, and torque, making it even more dynamic on any terrain while weighing 30 kilograms less at the same time. A new era begins almost ten years later, when BMW Motorrad engineers equip the R 1200 GS with a water-cooled boxer engine – something that had never been done before. The bike also has a semi-active suspension with Dynamic ESA (electronic suspension adjustment), which takes handling and riding comfort to a new level.

The GS becomes even stronger

In the following years, BMW Motorrad continued to build on the GS legend. The popular R 1250 GS appears with a redeveloped two-cylinder boxer engine: Thanks to its variable BMW ShiftCam camshaft control, it provides more power in all speed ranges and makes the GS even more effortless. In addition, the mid-range F 750 GS and F 850 GS models undergo constant development and make riding more enjoyable with their larger displacement and modified chassis.
