In the 60's many motorcycle manufacturers do the same chassis as for the road, and for off-road bikes. To make a true enduro / cross country, usually had to redo road or racing bikes. Velocette Scrambler - one of the examples of factory machines, based on the model Velocette MSS 500. By the use of parts from more powerful models Venom (camshaft, magneto, carburetor) engine power raised from 18 hp up to 35 hp

In those years, the customer could order a factory engine and the frame, and then fine-tuning the bike to do it the right indicators. These motorcycles were called «Compé-client» (racing motorcycle racer private).
