Italjet Dragster 459
From Italjet web-site: First version of Dragster born in 1995, in the heart of Italian Motor Valley, moved by the determination to create a sport scooter as never seen before. Original design by Leopoldo Tartarini is unique and
unblushing, using exciting technological solutions unconventional and never seen
before on a scooter Exciting are the iconic steel trellis and the Independent Steering System, with the single arm that separates the steering action from the shock absorbing one.
In 2019 the new version of Dragster is officially presented, a concentrate of technology and power with an aggressive and electrifying design. It is immediately a huge success and the First Edition, the limited series to celebrate its iconic return, is sold out in a very short time. Italjet Dragster 459 Twin While it shares many design elements with its bigger brother, the 459 proudly showcases its own distinctive character. One of the most notable differences is its unique automatic transmission — not a conventional CVT, but an entirely new intelligent SmartShift system. This allows you to cruise effortlessly in automatic mode, or take full control with the handlebar-mounted paddles, selecting gears manually whenever you want a more dynamic ride.
Italjet’s Dragster 459 Twin receives a
449cc, liquid-cooled inline twin-cylinder engine, which produces a claimed
46.9bhp at 9,500rpm and 30.2 Ib-ft of torque at 8,000rpm. Italjet has introduced SmartShift, an automatic transmission system which allows for effortless cruising in full-auto mode or take control with handlebar-mounted paddle shifters for manual gear changes and a sportier experience. Its steel trellis frame and 15” wheels, which sit in between the sizes usually found on scooters and motorbikes, it straddles both. The engine is more mid-mounted than you’d expect to find on more conventional scooters, and the motorcycle style swinging arm looks like it could have been lifted from a supersport bike. The suspension and brakes are also sport bike orientated, and
gives the rider an option to adjust the stiffness of the suspension when needed
or soften it for urban commuting.
