        Honda GLX 1800 Gold Wing

The Gold Wing is one of the longest-running models still on the market: the original model was the GL1000, launched in 1975. The engine has since increased in size to this 1800cc model of 2001. The engine layout has also changed, from the original flat-four to a flat-six, and features Honda's PGM-FI fuel-injection system. The GL1800 is perhaps the ultimate touring machine, with an equipment list more like a luxury car. From the CD sound system, 147-litre (32 gal) luggage space and reverse gear to cruise control, heated grips and trip computer, the Gold Wing is simply the best-equipped bike available. Its chassis is based on a twin-spar aluminium frame, with 45mm (1.8in) front forks and CBS linked brakes. The 21st century Gold Wing shatters all known standards for touring motorcycles with world-class performance, athletic handling and supreme comfort. A powerful 1832cc liquid-cooled, horizontally-opposed six cylinder engine produces an arm-twisting 125 pounds-feet of torque, all while meeting the latest emissions regulations. The Gold Wing's PGM FI electronic fuel injection system features two large 40mm throttle bodies and six specially-designed Keihin high-pressure fuel injectors for ideal fuel mixture control, improved performance and superb driveability. The Honda Gold Wing; the CEO of touring motorcycles.
