V-Rod Custom Rev-2 by Wonder Bikes

.

It’s true what they say ‘Owning a motorcycle makes life better’. Jason Wonder of Wonder Bikes, Texas builds bikes that we might dream about, but they are made to own and ride.

The bike is called ‘Rev-2‘ and according to Jason “The idea was to make a track worthy everyday rider with a little class”. Rev-2 was a competitor at the 2009 AMD World Championships Freestyle Class. Knowing Jason only took around 2 months to turn this killer bike up at AMD is incredible.

The V-Rod is visually distinctive from other Harley-Davidson motorcycles. It can be easily identified by the 60-degree V-twin engine, outputting 115 horsepower. To begin with Jason built a custom frame with a rake of 28 degrees to cradle the V-Rod engine; the angle of the neck is pretty close to a sports bike. The Gas tank is housing all the fuel injection components; the swingarm features a Showa adjustable shock.

V-Rod is a very powerful engine and with power comes responsibility, Jason has beautifully kept the design of this ‘Rev-2′ minimalist. Looking closely at the engine you will notice the polished aluminum intake and breather which carries more air to the engine. Jason also switched over to a custom fuel pump to improve gas flow to the motor and made a custom 2-into-2 full titanium exhaust with SuperTrapp disc only mufflers.

The seat, tank and semi fender are a removable one piece weighing only 12 pounds. ‘Rev-2′ is packed with performance-racing controls and features Dual Brembo 4 piston front and Brembo 4 piston rear brakes. This beauty rolls on 21-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear wrapped in Metzeler tires.

According to Jason the building a show bike wasn’t part of the plan. “I wanted a bike that would showcase something different and I could ride the hell out of it. I built it, took it to the AMD show in Sturgis and then took it to the track. I dig that. I have some new old-school designs that I have started working on so I am excited about that. I love what I do and hope to be able to continue doing it. Building one-off creations that are truly unique, are ride-able, and are performance driven is what I’m about.”
