Suzuki DR 800 Big One – “Big Suzy” #33 by Unik Edition Custom Motorcycles

Based in Lisbon, Portugal, Tiago Gonçalves and Luis Costa founders of Unik Edition Custom Motorcycles, have a passion to create unique customized pieces, where art embeds the quality of materials and aesthetics.

"A customer had this original but rusty 1991 DR 800, and said that he wanted something ‘cool’," explains Tiago. “So I said why not do something more ‘artistic’?”
Tiago referenced a Land Rover built by a local workshop CoolNVintage as inspiration.

"So we went front there! Vasco Costa, the same artist that painted the land rover, painted this frame. For sure this DR800 it is one of a kind, and even being a pierce of art..." Tiago said.

MAJOR CHANGES

- Team up with artist Vasco Costa to hand paint the frame, tank, and skid plate with a unique illustrated linear patterns.
- New adapted Suzuki GN tank, all fairings removed;
- Custom made side covers;
- A new one-into-two exhaust system fitted with adapted Arrow mufflers (shortened 12 cm from original Yamaha XTZ arrow);
- Complete new exhaust system from engine to muffler TIG-welded;
- New spokes and powder coated rims;
- New shortened enduro fenders;
- Shorter frame;
- New tires;
- New speedometer, brake, clutch levers;
- Custom leather seat;
- Motocross Renthal handlebars;
- Vintage Marchal headlight;
- An enduro taillight
- Custom license plate holder that also holds the turn signals.
