Harley-Davidson XR 1200 Cafè Racer by Cafè Racer Dreams

.

The Harley-Davidson XR 1200 was one of the most unique Harleys ever to have existed. Launched only in Europe, it’s flat track body style distinguishes itself from the rest of the motorcycles in its family, yet carried a iconic American design. Cafe Racer Dreams decided to work on one of these Harley-Davidson XR 1200.

This particular build takes the stock XR 1200 and fuses elements of cafe racer styling infused with black body work, giving it a menacing stance. With true cafe racer spirit, the machine relies on a flat design running from the front towards the back, with the flat fuel tank merging down into the custom made leather seat. The bike is low and long, thus you would have to stretch out to grab on to those low handlebars, lying almost flat on top of the massive backed out V-twin engine.

The tail unit is replaced by a compact subframe and Manx-style one-piece leather seat. The shocks have been replaced for better handling. The rear now has a pair of Ohlins which are purposely kept higher at the rear and lower at the front to give the bike front-biased ergonomics.

The XR 1200’s engine in stock form was no slouch, but this one gets extra bit of oomph via a K&N air intake and a new Remus exhaust system that snakes out from the cylinders and into a matt black Remus end can, with a classy metal badge giving the finishing touches.

The XR 1200 uses a Ducati Monster headlight which is set low into the front forks, maintaining the machine’s overall lines. The speedometer is relocated, now mounted low on the front left upside down fork, making the cockpit carry only the tachom
