“Uno–Nove-Nove”  by Asso Special Bikes

.

IThis Street Dragster called “Uno–Nove-Nove” or “1-9-9″ because thanks to its aluminum chassis, it weights only 199 kilograms or 438 lbs. It is the work of a shop called Asso Special Bikes (ASB) already very well known in Europe for its wheel designs a chain-driven offset swingarm accepting huge rear wheels. This year at the VERONA Bike Expo, Mario Columbo and his crew were the talk of the show when they introduced an all aluminum rolling chassis for Harley-Davidson Dyna whose frame and swingarm together weight only 16 kgs or 35 lbs.

Frame is of the type single downtube, with the “Uno=nova-Nova” R (R For Racing) getting its rear suspension from a Paioli mono shock attached to a beefy aluminum swingarm, and the front one provided by a Marzocchi front end attached to a custom machined ASB triple-tree. Wheels are the shop creation, model Indianapolis 18 X 10.5“ for rear and 18 x 3.5“ in front. For bodywork weight saving, carbon fiber was the evident choice for both gas tank, front and rear fender. Chassis hosts a black 110″ RevTech engine coupled to a Baker 6-speed right side transmission using a belt final drive. Exhaust is titanium, handlebars are adjustable with both hand and foot controls available directly from Asso Special Bikes. 199 R won Innovation Award at the Custom Chrome European Championship.
