Supercharged KTM 520 by Hazan Motorworks

This incredible supercharged KTM 520 was build by the master builder Max Hazan, who says “There was no intention of making something practical”.

He used a KTM 520cc 4-stroke engine, and then he mounted an AMR350 supercharger that adds 300cc of induction air per revolution. With 8lbs of boost and 110-octane race gas, the KTM now produces 85 horses at the crank.

Utilizing the board-tracker style, the frame features a rigid rear end and a unique springer front end.

Because practicality was not a priority, the KTM received only 1 disc brake, and it’s not on either of the wheels. Instead, it’s an inbound unit that slows the drivetrain.   Hand-made wheels utilize very uncommon radial spokes laced through flangeless hubs, with the rear wheel sporting a particularly daring arrangement.

The bike is very minimalist in terms of bodywork – with only a hand-built gas tank made from 6061 aluminum, a wooden saddle, and chrome fenders.  It has an overall wet weight of only 245 lbs / 111kg.

The radiator utilizes sections of the frame to transport vital fluids between components.

The supercharged KTM 520 is forsure not practical or road legal.

Max Hazan said: “It is what it is—something I wanted to make for the sake of making something. It goes and stops and puts a smile on my face.”
