Curtiss the ONE

The Curtiss Motorcycle Co. and digital manufacturer Fast Radius have unveiled a new luxury electric motorcycle that will reinvent the EV motorcycle category: the Curtiss One.

With production beginning later on this year, Curtiss Motorcycles will be assembling just 15 hand crafted 2021 First Editions. The Curtiss One First Edition commemorates the 115 years it has been since the production of a new Curtiss motorcycle. Following the completion of the 15 First Editions Curtiss will begin regular production of the 2022 Curtiss One, limited to 100 production units per year.

The rider-centered approach to Curtiss design means that the perfectly proportioned beauty is created to fit each client like it was made from scratch just for him or her. The level of adaptability and adjustability built into the design means the One can be tailored to any client, for any purpose, to suit any desire.

The majority of the Curtiss One’s parts are produced by Fast Radius.

POWER PAK
Acts as the radiator for the entire machine, keeping its radially-arranged cells fully submerged in non-conductive coolant in order to maintain safe operating temperatures for the battery unit, as well as the other components that make up the One’s unique power train. Additionally, Power Pak serves as the backbone of the Triple Load Path monocoque, adding strength to the design.

TRIPLE LOAD PATH
The aircraft-inspired TLP monocoque is the ultimate, no-compromise motorcycle chassis architecture; there is no better way.

The digitally milled-from-solid bulkheads, backbone, and fuselage skins create a geometrically perfect outcome for each example, unlike traditional architectural methods. The result is stunning to behold – it is flex-free, devoid of fatigue, and creates the lightest, slimmest possible chassis for a motorcycle.

CENTERED POWER AXIS
Our proprietary power train solution – perfect balance, stunning power, and minimal parts count.

The motor is centered along the horizontal and vertical axis of the chassis, with a massive hardened-steel proprietary drive shaft keyed to the center of our axial flux motor, forming the ideal organic swing arm pivot solution for perfect final drive geometry and shunt-free application of power.

No transmission or gearbox – power is passed directly from the motor to the rear wheel via a maintenance-free toothed belt drive. No shifting, no clutch, just a direct connection between your wrist and the effortless torque available at any rpm from the most power-dense motor in the world.

The One has a curb weight of 425lbs. And it puts down 87hp and 120lb-ft of torque (up to 217hp and 272lb-ft available via cloud-based updates).

The chasiss is made iut of modular machined billet aluminum, triple-load path construction, and a structural radiator battery monocoque.

The suspension is fully adjustable with modular carbon fiber and aluminum girders featuring race-proven RaceTech monoshock front and rear.

Control systems are advanced Cascadia Motion PM100 propulsion inverter, proprietary VCU, bluetooth and remote diagnostics enabled.

The result is rider centered control, precision, and purity like nothing ever before.
