CFMoto V4 SR-RR
CFMoto has officially stepped into the elite liter-class superbike arena with the production version of the V4SR-RR, revealed at EICMA 2026 in Milan. This is the Chinese manufacturer’s first dedicated superbike and its new flagship model, evolving from the 2024 “Master of Speed” design concept and the “Core of Speed” V4 engine shown the same year, followed by a running prototype at EICMA 2025. The V4SR-RR is positioned as a genuine rival to established European and Japanese machines such as the Ducati Panigale V4, BMW M 1000 RR, and Aprilia RSV4. Specifications are still subject to final homologation confirmation.
Engine: Homegrown 997 cc V4 At the heart of the V4SR-RR is an entirely in-house developed
997 cc 90-degree V4. Key technical features include: Claimed output exceeds 210 hp (approximately 154.5–157 kW) with a 15,000 rpm redline — 500 rpm higher than the earlier prototype. Peak torque is listed at around 115 Nm (≈85 lb-ft). Power is delivered through a six-speed gearbox with a bidirectional quickshifter. Exhaust gases exit via a full-titanium Akrapovič system. A pre-production prototype recorded a verified top speed of 315.82 km/h (196.2 mph) at the Shangrao Automotive Proving Ground in June 2026. CFMoto quotes a similar figure (around 316 km/h) for the production machine.
Chassis, Suspension and Brakes The engine serves as a stressed member in an aluminium frame that uses CFMoto’s “Aerocast” hollow-casting technology with variable wall thicknesses for controlled flex. Chassis geometry is fully adjustable.Suspension is by Öhlins (fully adjustable / semi-active USD forks and monoshock). Braking comes from Brembo Hypure Sport radial four-piston calipers at the front, paired with high-specification discs. Standard rubber is Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V4 (120/70-17 front, 200/55-17 rear) Dry weight is claimed at approximately 180 kg (397 lb). A ready-to-ride figure has not yet been published.
Active Aerodynamics The standout technical feature is the independently controlled active winglets — one of the first production applications of this technology. Each winglet is operated by its own servo and can move independently of the other. CFMoto claims the system generates 20% more front-wheel downforce than fixed winglets immediately before braking from 160 km/h (100 mph). At higher speeds the wings can operate asymmetrically to assist direction changes. Patent information indicates the wings sit nearly flat under acceleration, rise to 10–20° at high speed for stability, and can move to 45–90° under hard braking. Aerodynamic development included work in the Pininfarina wind tunnel.
The V4SR-RR is equipped with a comprehensive suite of rider
aids typical of modern superbikes, including: Variants Alongside the standard V4SR-RR, CFMoto displayed a more extreme V4SR-RR Carbon Black at EICMA. This track-oriented version features extensive carbon-fibre bodywork, dedicated aero components, an STM dry slipper clutch, Gilles Tooling parts, and other performance upgrades.
