There are few names in motorcycling that carry quite the same emotional weight as Bultaco. The Spanish marque built its reputation on lightweight, competition-bred motorcycles that combined simplicity, performance and a distinctly rebellious character. Now, after years away from the petrol-powered motorcycle market, Bultaco is preparing to put its name back on a machine aimed squarely at the adventure and dual-sport market.

The Bultaco Rally GT 300 is the first motorcycle from the revived Spanish brand, built as a collaboration with Leonart Motors. Officially it’s the Leonart X Bultaco Rallye GT 300, based on the Leonart Rally 300 platform and manufactured in China by Chongqing Andes, with Bultaco Racing helping with the setup and tuning.

It’s a lightweight trail bike aimed at A2 licence holders, designed for everyday road use plus light off-road. The engine is a 292 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke with four valves and DOHC, producing 28 horsepower at 9,500 rpm and 25 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox and chain final drive. Wet weight sits at 150 kg, seat height is 883 mm, wheelbase 1,410 mm, and ground clearance 260 mm. It carries a large 16-litre tank.

Wheels are 19-inch front and 17-inch rear on spoked rims, with an inverted fork and monoshock rear. Brakes are single discs front and rear. Full LED lighting is standard, along with a 5-inch colour TFT screen, USB port, tyre pressure monitoring, and a front dashcam.

Design keeps the classic Bultaco identity with the brand’s graphics and colours—black, black with Bultaco Racing red, or black with orange.

The Voge connection
There is an interesting story behind the motorcycle.

Although the Bultaco name and styling give the Rally GT 300 its own identity, reports indicate that the motorcycle is closely related to the Voge 300 Rally, an established lightweight dual-sport machine produced by Chinese manufacturer Loncin. The Voge uses a 292cc single-cylinder engine, six-speed gearbox, 21-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear wheel, with approximately 29 hp and 25 Nm.
That connection should not necessarily be viewed negatively.

Voge has already demonstrated that the platform can work as an affordable adventure motorcycle. The current Voge 300 Rally specification includes a liquid-cooled 292cc engine, six-speed transmission, 21/18-inch wheels, approximately 280mm of ground clearance and around 160kg of weight, depending on specification and market.

For Bultaco, using an existing platform could allow the company to concentrate on what really matters: giving the motorcycle its own character, specification and brand identity while keeping the price competitive.
