In several countries, Yamaha, in line with the needs of each market develops versions of products with local characteristics. Supported this overall philosophy of Brazil, Yamaha created the new XTZ 250 Ténéré. A vehicle for use in the daily transportation, travel and leisure, which offers autonomy, comfort, economy and quality preserving some characteristics trail, but with greater ability to Great Adventures in the asphalt. A model for use in urban displacements and highways.

For its design the same concepts were applied from Yamaha Ténéré Super Ténéré 660 and 1200, but on a smaller scale motorcycle with a dynamic behavior and more focused on the asphalt.

The Ténéré XTZ 250, front view highlights the optical block with two multireflector and polycarbonate lens which houses two parables with 55-watt halogen lamps. Both housed in a half-fairing with windshield provides protection from wind, insects, rain, etc. and kite lines. This set integrated into the front fuel tank and fenders are responsible for a low fuel efficiency and speed slightly higher end their sisters in the same category.

The chassis of the semi-double cradle steel fits in a fuel tank with a capacity of 16 liters and 4.5 liters reserve - enough, for example, to travel between Rio-São Paulo without the need for supply. Her cover-type quick fill nozzle has drain in eliminating the excess. The XTZ 250 Ténéré autonomy has unique among the products of the same segment, with unique features in one product, such as: comfort, protection, aerodynamics, handlebar height with higher amortized seat step, handles the croup, the controls handles and instrument panel complete, extolling their ability to travel.

As its power the XTZ 250 X XTZ 250 Lander and the YS 250 and also make the technology and know-how used are similar, and also recognized in the latest generation of models like the Yamaha YZF-R1 and Yamaha YZ 450F forming use of forged piston and cylinder with ceramic coating with higher strength and better heat dissipation.

The operation of the single-cylinder four-stroke, OHC (Over Head Camshaft) of exactly 249 cc developing 21 bhp at 8,000 rpm is managed by an efficient electronic system that controls a set of ten different readings. The heart, the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) monitors and analyzes the information from each sensor and sends commands to various systems to suit many different riding conditions, such as the tilt angle sensor which is used to stop fuel injection when there is an inclination of the motorcycle over 65 degrees, sensors which measure the altitude, air temperature, intake, etc..

Food for Fuel Injection System (Yamaha Electronic Injection), a pioneer in Brazil in the 250cc engines, designed for five years which gives him maturity and proven robustness and consistent performance with economy to its proposal, rapid responses in harmonizing and torn resumed. Gear compensated with spring damper installed at the right end of the balancer shaft (Engine Rock) Gears of reinforced five-speed complete the set.

The front suspension has stronger type telescopic rods protected by a rubber hood and stroke of 220 mm, while the rear has monocushioned 200 mm stroke and formed by the swing arm and a damper spring, oil and gas adjustment screw for easy access and handling.

Wheels with steel rims 80/90-21 M / C 48S and rear 120/80-18 M / C 62S Pirelli Scorpion lead, applying more on-road than off-road with low noise level. The instrument panel houses a liquid crystal display with multifunctional odometer total and two partial (TRIP-1 and TRIP-2), plus odometer fuel (F-TRIP), an indicator of the level of fuel, tachometer and analog electronic watch of excellent display, and LED indicator; neutral, high beam, light steering and engine alert.

The disc brakes on both wheels at the front takes a disk with 245 mm diameter and caliper with two pistons - which had its braking power improved by adopting a shorter hose and copper mesh on its end with the caliper , while the rear disc 203 mm in diameter.

The XTZ 250 Ténéré is the ideal motorcycle for those seeking a versatile vehicle for personal transportation in the city and aptitude for adventure and travel with the charisma of the legend Ténéré - the desert of deserts in the Tuareg dialect.
