Just get up and go! It's rugged. It's good looking. And it's designed to take you just about anywhere you want to go at a minute's notice. We're talking about the latest XT600E from Yamaha. And without a doubt this is one of the most versatile bikes ever built. Latest in a line of world famous XT models, the 600E is powered by a reliable 595 cc air-cooled 4-stroke engine. Featuring a 4-valve head and equipped with an innovative YDIS carburettor for smooth acceleration, this easy to maintain electric start powerplant generates massive low to mid range torque. And that's what helps make the XT a great performer on and off road.

Dual seat height is kept low by building the oil tank into the high tensile steel frame's top tube. And to master a wide range of surface conditions from city streets to pot holed dirt tracks the tough chassis runs long travel front forks and a dependable Monocross rear end. Yamaha XT600E. Ready for anything. Rugged 595 cc air-cooled SOHC 4-stroke single cylinder engine is equipped with an efficient 4-valve head and convenient electric starter. Pushing out massive low speed torque, this ultra reliable powerplant is a superb performer on the highway and in the dirt. Front fork crown XT600E is fitted with an all new fork crown for '96 featuring revised dimensions. Giving slightly increased trail, this uprated design offers improved handling stability at higher speeds for enhanced highway performance.

Yamaha Duo Intake System (YDIS) is essentially a sophisticated fuel metering device consisting of two carburettors in one—an innovative design that makes for smooth low speed riding and strong, responsive acceleration. Front disc brake Delivering reliable stopping performance is a 282 mm diameter drilled disc brake slowed by an efficient 4-pot calliper. Powerful and progressive, this lightweight system gives plenty of feedback, making it ideal for on and off road riding.

Fuel tank/Air scoop To give you an excellent range between refuelling stops the big XT is equipped with a large capacity 15 litre fuel tank. And to assist with engine cooling a pair of lightweight air scoops are mounted flush with its front sections. Headlight For excellent night time visibility we've equipped the XT with a powerful headlight assembly. Protected by an impact resistant cowl, this enduro style design underlines the bike's strong off road heritage. Instrumentation Lightweight instrumentation consists of a compact speedometer, separate tachometer and neat warning light assembly. Shielded by the tough headlamp cowl, these rubber mounted instruments display clear, easy-to-read information.
