The 2021 Husqvarna FS 450 supermoto doesn’t have any major changes, though Husqvarna has tweaked the FS 450 enough primarily in the suspension setup. As usual, the heart of the machine is a 450cc single-cylinder thumper that makes a claimed 63hp, and is mated to a five-speed gearbox that has a Suter slipper clutch.

Suspension is handled by WP pieces, with the WP XACT forks (285mm travel) at the front and a WP XACT shock (266mm travel) at the rear. The forks feature a new mid-valve damping, while the shock gets new low-friction linkage seals. The rear shock also comes shipped with revised settings.

The wheelbase has been shortened by 7mm, for better turning, and there is also a new 22mm front wheel axle, for better fork response. As has been the case in previous years, the wheels are 16.5″ / 17″ (front and rear) tubeless Alpina pieces, with Bridgestone slicks mounted. Brakes continue to be by Brembo.

Basic electronics are also part of the package, with two selectable riding maps for the throttle, a traction control system, and a launch control capability.

At 226 lbs (sans fuel) in weight, the Husqvarna FS 450 is a formidable weapon, and mostly distinguishes itself from the KTM model with its carbon fiber composite subframe.
