Ducati Multistrada Prototype

Launched as a concept machine at the
2001 Milan show, the Multistrada is a unique take on the dual-sport design from
Ducati designer Pierre Terblanche. Echoing many of the design cues of
Terblanche's earlier MH900 design, the Multistrada is a bold step, marrying
roadbike chassis components with the tall seating position and narrow chassis of
an off-road styled machine. The engine is an updated version of the firm's
trademark air-cooled 90B V-twin, with two-valve desmodromic heads. The
high-performance chassis includes a massive 190-section rear tyre, upside-down
front forks and rear monoshock.
