Overview Motormag

Concept dates back to the 1960’s with the Scrambler model, reinvented the Naked Motorcycle segment, with its greatest customization potential, and widest array of product variation.  Upright riding position, the Monster has a strong personality and is positioned as “style icon”.  Same sport characteristics as other Ducati’s, but has unique design characteristics, absence of fairing allows engine configuration to be admired by riders and passer-bys alike.

The Monster that started it all - the 900. For 2002, the Monster 900 i.e. incorporates many of the performance features found on last year’s S version such as an aluminum swingarm, fully adjustable front forks, and a headlight mounted fairing. Like other Monster models, the 900 i.e. has been given a new high volume airbox to compliment Ducati’s latest fuel injection to enhance the seamless power delivery and throttle response of the elegant Ducati air cooled Desmo L-Twin engine and to give a more confident and inspiring ride. The newly designed electronic instruments incorporate an LCD display that gives you quick and accurate information including trip distance, odometer, oil temperature, service intervals, time, and low fuel warning. The powerhouse of the two valve air cooled Monsters, the Monster 900 i.e. is always ready to rumble.

For 2002, the Monster 900 i.e. Dark incorporates many of the features that the other 2002 models receive such as the tubular Trellis frame derived from the Monster S4, high volume airbox, and new instrumentation. With its distinctive matte black tank and front fender contrasting with its glossy black frame and 3 spoke wheels, the Monster 900 i.e. Dark is always an individual.
