Yamaha FZ-1 by Tamworth

A UK dealer has revealed a special FZ-1 boasting
a near-identical specification to the one-off
Abarth FZ-.
Tamworth Yamaha created this particular Fiat Yamaha-liveried FZ-1 for shop
Managing Director Jonathan King, and boasts all of the top-notch parts you might
expect.
The chassis was the standout feature of the Abarth Assetto Corse FZ-1, and
Tamworth Yamaha’s machine is very similar. Öhlins Road and Track forks are
slotted in to the standard yokes, and carry the standard front wheel, Brembo
radially-mounted monobloc calipers and narrow track discs.
The calipers are connected to a radial-pump Brembo master cylinder by a set of
braided hoses made to suit the set-up, and the brake system is finished with a
black anodised Rizoma fluid reservoir.
The engine has also received some tuning with YEC kit parts and an Akrapovic
exhaust system (stickered as a Termignoni). The paintwork is an adaptation of
the Fiat-sponsored livery on Valentino Rossi’s 2008 YZR-M1, tweaked to suit the
fairing-less FZ-1 by Rage Designs.
A genuine Yamaha pillion seat cover and a set of bespoke aluminium side panels
are the only other bodywork changes, finished neatly with a seat recovered by
the dealer.
