The 250 EXC-F is practically a guarantor for top places in tough and physical enduro sport. Renowned for its powerful performance from deep down up to 13,000 1/min, the new generation is being launched with an even more powerful DOHC four-stroke engine, a new fuel injection system, a new electric starter and a completely revamped, top-quality chassis. The playful handling of the 250 EXC-F is legendary - for all those who want to keep their motorcycle completely under control at all times.

The 250 EXC-F's new bodywork with the very slim seat and spoiler lines, plus excellent contact points, perfects the bike's ergonomics, making handling even simpler and more precise. The longer rear fender protects the rider even more effectively from swirled up stones.

 OPTIMISED ELECTRIC STARTER

ELECTRIC STARTER

The 250 EXC-F is equipped with both a kickstarter and an electric starter. The redesigned drive for the electric starter is now integrated into the generator cover instead of the engine case, so the bike can be converted into a pure kickstarter simply by replacing the generator cover.

NOW WITH EVEN MORE PERFORMANCE

ENGINE

The 250 EXC-F's compact, state-of-the-art four-stroke engine excels with a redesigned cylinder head, an extremely wide usable rev range and now with even better performance. A state-of-the-art engine management system with electronic injection, a more powerful generator and a redesigned electric starter make the KTM a hard nut to crack for the competition.

VALVE TRAIN AND NEW INTAKE PORT

Four titanium valves are actuated in the DOHC cylinder head by carbon-coated cam levers. The 250 EXC-F's elaborate valve train and engine with an extremely short stroke facilitate speeds of up to 13,000 1/min. The further developed intake port now allows 10 % greater gas flow.

NEW EFI/EMS

The newly developed Keihin engine management system with electronic fuel injection ensures spontaneous responsiveness from the engine. Various engine characteristics can be activated with an optional map select switch.

NEW SILENCER

The 250 EXC-F's new, improved silencer not only offers greater volume and a new design, it also reduces noise levels to the stricter standards of the future.

NOW WITH AN EVEN MORE SUPERIOR CHASSIS

NEW FRAME

The completely revamped frame made from high-quality chrome-molybdenum steel is characterised by even greater lateral stiffness. Furthermore, it is even better at absorbing jolts introduced by the suspension system, whereby the playful handling and comfort of the 250 EXC-F have been further optimised.

NEW SWINGARM, NEW PDS, NEW SETTING

The 250 EXC-F's new, lighter, cast aluminium swingarm accommodates the shock absorber more centrally, in order to load the swing arms more evenly. The new, 7 mm (0.28 in) longer PDS shock absorber with adjustable rebound and high/low-speed compression damping, and a new setting is installed more flatly, so providing even more progression.

TELESCOPIC FORK, NEW SETTING

The 250 EXC-F is equipped with the latest WP upside-down fork with wider adjustment ranges and a new setting. The sensitive responsiveness and outstanding damping of the open-cartridge fork with 48 mm (1.89 in) outer tubes are a perfect complement for the 250 EXC-F's playful handling and precision.

NEW WHEELS

Practically unbeatable in terms of weight and stability, the new wheels have CNC-machined hubs, Excel rims, zinc/nickel-coated spokes and aluminium nipples. They reduce the unsprung and gyroscopic masses, hence boosting the playful handling of the 250 EXC-F.
