Combining inimitable Harley-Davidson cruiser styling with
a premium tourer equipment package, the Electra Glide has long been Harley's
flagship touring machine. From the fork-mounted fairing through the
well-padded seat and large hard luggage system, it is built for two-up
distance comfort. Extensive touring equipment such as a built-in stereo
radio/cassette system, CB radio and intercom, and electronic cruise control
make long journeys easier.
The latest model uses a Twin Cam 88 engine, with
twin camshafts operating overhead valves via pushrods, and electronic
fuel-injection. Like all Harley cruisers, the Glide has strong low-down
grunt, with rather weak top end power.
