The Road Glide® Custom is a
tough, low version of the shark-nose Harley-Davidson classic, with a big
18-inch front wheel, a 2-into-1 exhaust, and a smooth tail light assembly.
This bagger rolls with swagger. The innovative Harley-Davidson® Touring
chassis is based on a single-spar, rigid backbone frame and a stout swingarm
developed to withstand the demands of long-haul touring riders and today's
powerful engines.
The Road Glide® model had long been known as the “tourer’s touring bike.” It
introduced the world to the unique “shark nose,” framemounted fairing. The
Road Glide® Custom takes that unique, wind-splitting design and gives it a
slammed, custom appearance. It’s undeniable that the frame-mounted fairing
design gives the Road Glide Custom outstanding handling properties.
With a lowered suspension, large 18-inch front wheel, shorty, smoked wind
deflector, colormatched saddlebag latches and custom rear fascia and
taillight, the Road Glide® Custom brings true attitude and style to that
renowned handling. And now those who love to rack up the miles can choose to
upgrade their Road Glide® Custom straight from the factory with the Security
Package Option, combining an Anti-lock Braking System and Smart Security
System for outstanding value.
2012 Touring Models: The Legend Rolls On
For 2012, all eight Harley-Davidson® Touring models are powered by a Twin
Cam 103TM engine with Automatic Compression Release and an integrated oil
cooler. Producing 102 ft. lbs. of peak torque at 3500 rpm, the Twin Cam
103TM engine provides an outstanding performance around town and on the open
road. All Touring models also feature the 6-Speed Cruise DriveTM
transmission, 41.3 mm telescopic front forks, air-adjustable rear shocks and
Isolated Drive System for smooth power delivery. The Harley-Davidson®
Touring chassis has a single-spar, rigid-backbone frame and two-piece
swingarm designed to deliver responsive manoeuvrability and long-haul
durability. Chassis geometry and suspension are calibrated to deliver
confident handling and comfort.
All Touring models except the Ultra Limited will offer a new "tubeless"
Chrome Lace Aluminium Wheel option for ease of tire replacement and repair.
Six new colours or colour combinations are among the 12 paint options
offered within the 2012 Touring model line.
