In the USA, Aermacchi is best known for its
ill-fated collaborations with Harley-Davidson—which invested in the Italian
company in the 1960s, and took complete control in 1974. But in post-war Italy,
Aermacchi was known for its racing successes and futuristic designs. The sleek
Chimera was available in 175 and 250 cc models.
